WHAT IS HYPNOSIS AND HYPNOTHERAPY ?
Hypnosis is the ability to put someone into a trance and then skillfully deepen the trance and then release them from the trance .
A trance is a state of mind where you have no conscious control over thoughts and actions but you can see and hear things. It may appear similar to sleep in many ways but you are fully aware of what’s going on and your subconscious mind is now in a very heightened state of susceptibility.
We all go into trance like states everyday,it’s actually a natural human state that we all slip in and out of during the day . You may notice you lose track of time when listening to music or watching a film your attention is so focused on the film that you are unaware of any other noises or anything else going on in the room. Even when driving along a familiar route you may not remember going past certain points and that is because you will have gone into a trance like state .
Hypnosis has actually been around since the Ancient Egyptians and the phrase hypnosis came about in the late 1800’s so it has certainly come a long way since then and has successfully helped treat so many ailments, habits and addictions.
Yes it does but Hypnosis is a collaborative process so you have to really want to make the change in yourself.
Your subconscious will only accept suggestions that you whole heartedly believe in and it will simply reject anything that does not comply with your wishes or beliefs.
Hypnotherapy does require the ability to focus and follow instruction to achieve the results you want .
It also requires commitment to attend the sessions that you require.

COMMON FEARS
You may have watched stage hypnosis on television and have a preconceived idea that you could be made to do anything or made to look silly. This is not the case in hypnotherapy and you will be in full control, it is impossible to make you do something that you do not wish to or comply with . Therefore if a suggestion be given to you that you disagree with you will simply reject it.
When in hypnosis you are awake and in control, you have the choice about what you want to share.
